When I could start studying, I was happy; but when I need to take the exam, then I am sad.
When I finished the exam, I was happy; but when I see the result, then I am sad.
When I passed the exam, I was happy, but when I knnow I need to do this repeatedly for 6(primary)+5(secondary)+4(university) = 15 years, then I am sad.
When I was graduated from university; I was happy; but when I need to find a job, then I am sad.
When I found a job, I was happy; but when I see the remuneration given, then I am sad.
When I got my salary, I was happy; but when I see the loan bill from bank, then I am sad.
What's the objective?
I love to learn, out of my curiosity, I would like to know everything that comes into my eyes around me.
So I study, in order to understand more about the sciences behind everything I see. I love to learn, bringing my curiosity and my passion.
So I joined the school, following the education system created in this world to all of us. I start learning the world, with the standard guidance, syllabus, teaching and learning flow for everyone.
So I pay the school fee, which is then I learn about the responsibility of paying to earn knowledge. Fair enough, I pay money, I earn knowledge.
So I get the tuition fee loan, by then I signed the agreement with the bank, "Hereby I agree to payback the loan after my graduation."
So now, I get loan, I can pay the school fee. I can learn, I earn knowledge. Then, with the responsibility of paying back the loan, I need to have income. With the knowledge I learn with my passion and satisfy curiosity, I need to look for a job to earn income, in order to pay back the loan.
My objective is all about learning, not finding job.
Education system, what is it today?
Education, based on Wikipedia.org, "in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred from one generation to the next through teaching, training, or research. Education frequently takes place under the guidance of others, but may also be autodidactic. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be considered educational."
The education is to deliver knowledge, provide guidance by others, from one generation to another. The demand of education give birth to a new market for business to take into place, a "commercial" way is used to provide "better" quality of education. Education is not free after all.
Knowledge is free, it is a natural form of energy flowing in the atmosphere, within the people, among the community and society. But, it is now known as a source of business, a tool for looking for job, a necessary one to create a better world - for making more business.
Knowledge is free, but education is not. Learning is free, but class attendance is not.
Passion and curiosity is freedom, but earning tool to secure a job is boredom.
Should we have alternative way to deliver knowledge? Don't be education, maybe edutainment (education+entertainment)?
